How To: Legend of Zelda Triforce Pendant

The Legend of Zelda is probably my all time favorite video game series. I made this Legend of Zelda triforce pendant using a two-part epoxy putty called Magic Sculpt.

Pendant #1

  1. Select a size for your pendant.

  2. Cut a length of brass rod for each side.

  3. Place a sheet of wax paper over your pattern and glue the points of the brass rod.

  4. Wearing gloves, combine the Magic Sculpt in a 1:1 ratio.

  5. Roll the putty out between two sheets of wax paper.

  6. Press the brass rod triangle into the putty and trim around the edges.

  7. Cut out the pattern and align it to the pendant.

  8. Using the pattern as a guide, mark and score the lines for the center of the pendant.

  9. Allow the pendant to cure overnight.

  10. Cut through the previously scored lines.

  11. Sand all the edges smooth.

Pendant #2

  1. Select a size for your pendant.

  2. Wearing gloves, combine the Magic Sculpt in a 1:1 ratio.

  3. Roll the putty out between two sheets of wax paper.

  4. Cut out the pattern and align it to the pendant.

  5. Using the pattern as a guide, trim around the edges of the pendant.

  6. Use a rubber tipped tool to create the recessed area in the center triangle of the pendant.

  7. Allow the pendant to cure overnight.

  8. Sand all the edges smooth.

Finishing

  1. Wrap a length of craft wire around two bamboo skewers.

  2. Use a pair of wire cutter to cut the bail to size.

  3. Add a dab of glue to the back of the pendant and attach the bail.

  4. Once the glue dries, reinforce the bail attachment with a small strip of Magic Sculpt.

  5. Allow the pendants to cure overnight.

  6. Paint and varnish as desired.

  7. Add a chain or cord and wear.
